On 23-27 July, the OSA Foundation (OSAF) held its first Innovation School, at OSA Headquarters in Washington, D.C. During the four-day program, participants from the optics and photonics sector focused on the nuts and bolts of developing innovative solutions or products, as well as harnessing entrepreneurial skillsets to further their careers and companies. Here, OPN talks with Eric Koester, the Innovation School’s facilitator, and with a presenter at the school, OSA board member Amy Eskilson, about what it takes to forge your own path and start a business.
