In February, OSA Vice-President Connie Chang-Hasnain, University of California, Berkeley, USA, traveled to the 2019 Optical Society of Korea (OSK) Winter Annual Meeting in Gangwon-do, Korea, where she delivered a plenary talk titled “VCSEL array—Catalyzing 3-D sensing.” Chang-Hasnain participated in a Women in Optics session and met with OSK leadership. She also presented the 2019 OSA–OSK Student Prize to Seongjin Hong, Yonsei University, for the paper “Optimization of diode-pumped cesium vapor laser using frequency locked pump laser.”
