In OPN’s December “Optics in 2018” review of interesting research, Linhan Lin and Yuebing Zheng described a new type of light-based tweezing, opto-thermoelectric nanotweezers (OTENT), that can achieve trapping, in situ analysis, and assembly of a variety of colloidal nanoparticles, at operating-power levels far below those of conventional optical tweezers.
