Multicore Photonics lies at the nexus of two industrial trends: the need for better environmental-sensing technology, and the opportunities arising from the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Formed in March 2015 around an exclusively licensed, cutting-edge multicore fiber (MCF) technology developed at the University of Central Florida’s College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL), the company has begun making inroads into its first key target market in the automotive sensing segment.
