Automotive lighting is a fascinating melting pot of ideas, concepts, technology, design, ambition, demand and ingenuity. Its evolution over the past century has been similarly rich—full of good ideas born too early, and later re-invented; full of both tradition and innovation. Driving much of that evolution have been changes in light sources and their luminance, from the growing standardization around electrical light sources through today’s emerging standard, the LED.
