Droplets Bounce Off a Self-Cleaning Surface

In OPN’s December “Optics in 2015” review of interesting research conducted in the previous year, Anatoliy Y. Vorobyev and Chunlei Guo recount some of their work using femtosecond laser pulses to create superhydrophobic (extremely water-repellent) surfaces. Here, droplets of water actually bounce off of one such “self-cleaning” surface.
