From 8 to 10 July 2019, The Optical Society (OSA) will host the Applied Industrial Optics (AIO) meeting at OSA’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., USA. OSA Fellow Turan Erdogan, Plymouth Grating Laboratory (PGL), USA, will give a keynote address, “A Tale of Two Companies,” exploring how two optics companies evolved from start-up to mid-life. And OSA Board member Sujatha Ramanujan, Luminate, USA, will discuss the specific challenges involved in bringing optics and photonics products to market in her tutorial “From Lab to Launch.” Optics & Photonics News caught up with Erdogan and Ramanujan to learn more.
