Takeaways from the Siegman School

Two 2018 students reflect on their time at OSAF’s laser science learning program: what they picked up, what they presented and why you should apply.

From 28 July to 4 August, approximately 100 grad and Ph.D. students from across the globe gathered on the tiny island of Hven, Sweden, to attend the Siegman International School on Lasers, co-founded by OSA Foundation (OSAF) and IPG Photonics. In the week-long immersion course on advancements in laser science and its applications, students learned from top researchers in the field, from industry leaders—and from each other.
