Sensor Center Rises from Florida Ranchland

In a part of central Florida known for cattle ranching and Walt Disney World, a community is rallying behind the vision of becoming the center of the sensor-driven economy.

Construction is underway in Osceola County, Florida, USA, on an advanced manufacturing facility. The Florida Advanced Manufacturing Research Center (FAMRC) is rising out of a 200-acre field that formerly housed the Judge Dairy Farm. It is supported by 15,000 cubic yards of concrete and more than 500 rock piles embedded 40 feet in the sandy soil.
