A new treatment for people with damaged corneas may emerge from a study in which corneas regenerated around an implanted collagen scaffolding. Diseases that lead to clouding of the cornea represent the most common cause of blindness. The promising results come from an early clinical trial with 10 patients conducted by researchers in Canada and Sweden.
