The coming year is shaping up to be a pivotal one for Europe’s innovation and industrial policy. While preparations for the next EU research framework are under way, major legislative proposals aimed at commercialization, scale-up and cross-border growth are also expected to take shape. For companies operating in deep-tech sectors such as photonics, quantum technologies, advanced manufacturing and other enabling technologies, these initiatives reflect a growing emphasis by the European Union on strengthening the structural conditions that allow new technologies to scale, commercialize and sustain globally competitive activity.
