In OPN’s December “Optics in 2022” review of interesting research, researchers from M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Computer Holography Centre Ltd., Russia, outlined a recently developed method for computing and synthesizing a nano-optical element to produce 3D images formed in the vicinity of zero diffraction order.
As the videos below show, the resulting, high-quality 3D images, observable under white light, retain full parallax when the image is tilted left to right and up and down (first video) and rotated 360 degrees (second video).
