A Year of Service, a Lifetime of Impact

For two decades, OSA Congressional Fellows have worked alongside members of the U.S. Congress at the front lines of the legislative process.

The past year was the 20th anniversary of the OSA Congressional Fellowship program, which puts Ph.D. scientists in the role of legislative assistant and science advisor. To mark that anniversary, OPN spoke with three fellows—one who entered the program early in its history, one from its middle years and one recent alum—about their experiences. We found that, though they’ve pursued different career paths since their fellowships, all three have felt an enduring impact from the fellowship experience.
