Women in Physics in South Africa: Are We There Yet?

There is a growing global concern over the declining number of women students that are enrolling in and graduating from science programs at higher-education institutions. South Africa, like many other countries, is experiencing such a profound underrepresentation of women in physics that national initiatives have been established to correct the deficit.
