This year marks the 50th anniversary of the College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona (UA), U.S.A. Since its inception in 1964, the college—which is still fondly called “OSC” after the school’s original name, the Optical Sciences Center—has been committed to generating and disseminating knowledge crucial to developments in nearly every field of science and technology. OSC has enjoyed tremendous growth and success by creating a unique, close-knit community of exceptional faculty and students with interests ranging from fundamental physics research to practical solutions in optical engineering and technology.
