Novel white phosphorescent materials are key elements for innovative lighting systems to replace contaminant, inefficient luminaries. Diode-based technologies are evolving from complex arrangements of red, green and blue emitters to thermally-stable, white-light emitting semiconductors. Blue emission from a conventional diode is partially converted into yellow light and the resulting combination generates the desired white light. The material remains transparent to red and greenish colors.
