Medical Image Reconstruction

This book is aimed at anyone interested in the foundations of tomography in the field of medical imaging. The medical imaging modalities include X-ray computed tomography, positron emission tomography, single photon emission tomography and magnetic resonance imaging.

This self-contained book takes the reader from the basic definitions to many of the research problems of contemporary interest, such as machine learning in image reconstruction. This volume contains problem sections at the end of each chapter.

The care, clarity and depth of most of the chapters contained in that book are admirable. I highly recommend this book as a source for graduates and engineers involved in the field of medical imaging.
