The Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (CLEO) will take place from 5 to 10 May in Charlotte, NC, USA. At the conference, Rebecca Richards-Kortum, Rice University, USA, will give a plenary talk entitled, “How Can Optical Imaging Help Reduce Global Inequities in Cancer?” She will cover advances in technology and infrastructure for improving cancer detection and diagnosis around the world. Before the conference, OPN spoke with Richards-Kortum to learn more about her talk and the work her team is doing.
