3.6 Billion Years in Color
The Pilbara, northwestern Australia, which exposes some of the oldest rocks on Earth—over 3.6 billion years old—is captured in a composite image by the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) on the Terra satellite.
