The Challenges of Imaging Through Complex Media

Thomas Bifano and Jerome Mertz hosted a recent OSA incubator meeting on controlled light propagation through complex media. OPN had the opportunity to talk with the Boston University professors about the conference and their thoughts on the future of their field.

Bifano is a professor of mechanical engineering at Boston University and director of the Boston University Photonics Center. Mertz is an OSA Fellow and a professor of biomedical engineering and directs the biomicroscopy laboratory at Boston University.
