I would like to thank you for publishing the article about my father, James Baker (OPN, March 2011). It is hard to believe that it has been 51 years since the time when he was president of the Optical Society. I don't remember if the author, John Howard, ever made it to our home on Grove Street or to the farm in South Newbury or the Bedford, N.H., house. At times, we had optical materials scattered all over the United States, from Elephant Mountain in Texas, to a lot near Flagstaff, Ariz. We still have material at the farm and in storage lockers.
