Principles of Scattering and Transport of Light

This book presents an introduction in the area of scattering and transport of light, and it is dedicated to the graduate students and young researchers who are starting their work with these topics.

The volume is divided into six parts. The first covers basic knowledge of the electromagnetic field such as geometrical optics, refraction, diffraction and coherence theory. The second part deals with scattering theory, while the third part of the book is dedicated to wave transport. The book then turns in the fourth part to radiative transport and diffusion of light, continuing into interference phenomena and speckle in the fifth part. The concluding sixth part is dedicated to electromagnetic waves and near-field wave scattering.

The book is very clearly written, and each part contains extensive references and exercises, enabling the book to fill its pedagogical role.
