Biomedical Photoacoustics

This book is a timely review of photoacoustics. Extensive literature has documented the importance of this basic science. There is also a practical implication: A primary goal of this book is to highlight the importance of using specific photoacoustic techniques in the context of biomedical imaging, especially for tumor detection, since they provide higher contrast and resolution than their conventional ultrasound counterparts.

The target audience for this book includes graduate students of engineering and science, optical and acoustic engineers, and designers of photoacoustic imaging technology.
