Beam Acceleration in Crystals and Nanostructures

This book is the result of a workshop with the same name held at Fermi lab in the middle of 2019, which dealt with future accelerators and colliders using solid-state plasma of the nanostructures such as carbon nanotubes and crystals.

The book is divided into five parts. The first part introduces the issues of the book. The second part is dedicated to crystal and nanostructures acceleration and focuses on experiments performed at Fermi Lab, SLAC or ELI Beamlines. The third part deals with brilliant beams such as attosecond electron beams, and the fourth part focuses on new laser technologies for particle accelerators. The book ends with perspectives regarding laser-wakefield applications in medicine, wakefield acceleration from black holes and experimental high-energy physics. The book is recommended for all those working in advanced research about beam acceleration using nanostructures and crystals for the generation of high fields.
