Modern Plasmonics

This monograph provides an excellent introduction of the present state-of-the-art in the field of plasmonics at a level appropriate for graduate students and researchers. It spans all aspects of the field, from fundamentals to applications, and from infrared to ultraviolet frequencies. The chapter authors have been carefully selected to cover both theory and experiment, and also to reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the subject, with contributions from physicists, chemists and electrical engineers. Together, they provide a comprehensive overview that links the most up-to-date results with the knowledge base acquired over more than a century in the understanding of electromagnetic waves localized at metal surfaces.
