The OSA Foundation (OSAF) announced that Katie Schwertz was selected as the 2009 recipient of the Harvey M. Pollicove Memorial Scholarship during the OSAF Chairman’s Breakfast at Frontiers in Optics. The scholarship, which honors optics manufacturing pioneer Harvey Pollicove, is given to an outstanding student pursuing a degree in precision optics manufacturing. Schwertz is earning a master’s degree in optical sciences at the University of Arizona. The OSAF extends a special thank you to the supporters of the H.M.
