“High-speed film cameras, which have been used for many years in the recording of high-speed events ... are now competing with electronic charge-coupled devices (CCDs) and metal oxide semiconductors (MOS) imaging cameras. Although photographic film will continue to be used for many years, the time is rapidly approaching when high-speed film cameras will be found in only a few specialty applications.”
