“Electronic methods of communication are beginning to enhance and, in some cases, replace communication via printed paper. Facsimile machines are in constant use throughout the world, electronic mail is used instead of paper letters, literature searches can be performed from any phone line, and entire journal volumes can be obtained on CD ROM … The most difficult problem you will encounter in sending E-mail is in providing a complete and accurate address for your recipient … including the names of the user, host computer, institution, and network.”
