Imaging Retinal Vessels

In OPN’s December “Optics in 2018” review of interesting research, Chao Tian and Yannis M. Paulus described how photoacoustic imaging, which converts light energy into sound waves, can be used to create high-resolution micrographs of eye structures, potentially in clinical settings. This video shows a 360-degree fly-around of the retinal blood vessels of a rabbit, as imaged using the method.
