OSA and the OSA Foundation congratulate four students recognized at OFC/NFOEC 2009 for their innovation and research excellence. Jeffrey Lee, of the Eindhoven University of Technology in The Netherlands was selected as the Corning Outstanding Student Paper Competition grand prize winner. Mohammad Alfiad, also from Eindhoven, and Bo Zhang from the University of Southern California, U.S.A., each received honorable mention. The Corning competition recognizes innovation, research excellence and presentation abilities in optical communications.
