Magneto-Optics: An Introduction

This textbook deals with how light polarization or intensity changes upon interaction with a magnetic sample. While the coverage is broad, several important topics are missing, e.g., magneto-optic data storage based upon the polar Kerr effect and magnetic field sensors.

Although many books already exist in the literature for specialized researchers, this one will be of interest to graduate students and engineers. The care, clarity and scholarship of most of the chapters contained in that book are meritorious. A set of problems with hints to solutions covers a wide range of difficulties.
