What is the color of amber? Iron ore? Pollen? How can wind and water be suggested? Kristin Quinn, daughter of former OSA Executive Director Jarus Quinn, explores such questions every day through her dynamic artwork.
In 1973, at the age of 11, I held my first job at the Optical Society. I was on “special assignment,” contracted to help assemble hundreds of sets of Uniform Color Scales. My father, Jarus W. Quinn, who at that time was executive director of OSA’s seven-person operation, brokered the arrangement.
